SPAWN OF POSSESSION: Songwriting Is Going 'Surprisingly Well'
December 5, 2005Swedish technical death metal outfit SPAWN OF POSSESSION have signed a multi-album deal with Neurotic Records. The band will enter Pama Studios in Kristianopel, Sweden in January/February with producer Magnus Sedenberg to record their as-yet-untitled new album, tentatively due next spting/summer. The band have issued the following update on the songwriting sessions for the upcoming CD:
"The current status for SPAWN OF POSSESSION is eight finished tracks that only need some polishing and minor detail work. Two more songs are up on the surgery table for completion to fullfil the setlist of our upcoming release. The writing so far has gone surprisingly well without us losing focus of staying fresh and experimental. Studio dates will be posted soon along with more info on the new, as-yet-untitled album."
According to an official press release. the follow-up to 2003's "Cabinet" album will be "even more technical, but at the same time it consists of more grooving and recognizable parts, while also [featuring a] more epic [approach] all over." The lyrical approach, music and artwork will all benefit the reflection of a concept based on what at this point is best described as a "surreal ghost story."
